About
Our Team

Since very near the inception of MarketSmart Communications, back in April of 2003, Adrian has been instrumental in forming the company’s corporate objectives & values. In May 2006, he took on the role of VP Corporate Communications and, after being named director, Adrian officially became President of MarketSmart in June 2020.
This tenure of Adrian running MarketSmart’s daily operations has yielded a large network of retail investors, newsletter writers, financial professionals and connected investment groups. Beyond this, he has assisted MarketSmart’s client companies with financings, marketing focus, and awareness.
In attending both the Douglas Universities’ Business Commerce Program and the Canadian Securities Course, a foundation for success was laid. Built atop that foundation is Adrian’s ardent passion and experience in the industry, all of which has positioned MarketSmart to continue achieving its corporate objectives.

MarketSmart was established in February 2002 by Founder and owner Maria Da Silva. Following her role at StockScape, where she deftly and expertly handled daily operations, Maria brought a track record of success and a wealth of knowledge in business and marketing to her new enterprise.
Not only did Maria build the company’s industrious corporate culture from the ground up, she identified the talent needed to move MarketSmart’s objectives to new heights. Her outgoing personality led the company through its infancy by developing key relationships with retail investors, financial professionals, newsletter writers, and client company principals.
Maria remains as ambitious as ever as she looks to help guide MarketSmart to its next level of success.

Lemuel Daher became MarketSmart’s Corporate Communications Specialist in June of 2018. He graduated from Northwest University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. While there, he achieved wins in British Parliamentary style debate, was awarded the “Who’s Who in American Universities and Colleges” for Communications, and earned his place in the National Honors Society of Communications.
The sum of all these achievements and experiences have enabled Lemuel to write MarketSmart’s monthly Commentary Corners, a place where prospective and ongoing investors can read regular summaries and discussions of the Company’s featured clients. His attentiveness and interest in the stock market has put him en route to continuing down a path of excellence.

As of June 2024, James Berard’s journey has come full circle. James has a long history with MarketSmart, having started his career with the company in 2003. James played an instrumental role in MarketSmart’s success and was a trusted and respected employee until his departure in 2006, whereupon he joined Kcrew Communications from 2006 to 2009.
In the intervening years, James owned his own investor relations firm. During this time, he established meaningful relationships with clients and made a slew of notable achievements. He worked with Aurea Mining, which turned out to be Neustrike Gold after being bought out by Timmins Gold (TSX: TMM) for $7.00 a share after starting at $0.10. His most recent accomplishment is Izotropic (CSE: IZO), which started at $0.17 and went all the way to $1.55.
The company is thrilled to welcome James back, and is excited for James to lend his invaluable expertise and unique approach toward MarketSmart’s corporate objectives.
With over 12 years experience working with public companies in the mining and technology sectors, Jared brings variety of creative skills to the table when working with MarketSmart’s client companies marketing materials.
